Icon Claymore - Soapbar Bass Guitar Pickups 4/5 string
The Kluson Soapbar 4/5 string Bass pickup has great tonal character and can be used as either active or passive, alone or in pairs. When wired with switching for a series/parallel option, you will have the characteristic click of a Stingray bass and when in series it has the full, round growl of humbucking bass pickups of course adding the benefit of 60cycle hum-cancelling. The full-length bar magnets will accomodate string spacing up to 95mm which includes some 5 string basses and allows you to play as hard as you wish without the fear of pulling a string out of the magnetic field. The widely spaced coils sample a fairly large section of the strings resulting in a tasteful full bass tone for your live and recorded performances.

Shortly after the introduction of the hum-cancelling split-p-bass pickup, the now classic jazz bass pickups have a characteristic single coil tone which has an added bonus: since they are wound and magnetized opposite each other, they cancel hum when used together at the same volume! Many players are unaware of this added bonus. also not widely known is that there is a slight difference in length between the two pickups, with the treble being slightly longer.

When introduced in 1957, the split-P pickup was a breakthrough in ways. Besides having two individual picks, each assigned to a pair of strings the P-Bass pickup was unique also because it had two pole pieces per string that were on either side of the string which gave a larger "per string" magnetic field so regardless of how hard the string was plucked there was no running out of the field losing signal. This design of two independent pickups reverse wound to each other also gave 60 cycle hum cancellation while retaining the clarity and transparency of a single coil without phase cancellation. Standard with Alnico V polepieces and black covers this is the real thing!
Icon Musicman Replacement Bass Guitar Pickups
The Kluson Musicman Stingray replacement pickup is an answer to many prayers. The Stingray is a modern classic bass but until now finding a suitable replacement pickup has been difficult. Our recipe has full-length polepieces to get every bit of string vibration no matter how hard you play while having similar output and tone to the stock unit. This improved version has enough output to be used passive, without a preamp. for authentic Stingray tone, however, a low impedance buffer preamp is recommended. We also strongly suggest a series/parrallel switch or push/pull pot to get the two distinctly different tones made available by the widely spaced coils in this pickup.
